– Temporary Position
Are you an expert in CAD with a passion for industrial design and construction? Do you have experience with Fusion 360 and an interest in vehicle design?
Vidde is looking for a highly skilled and flexible Freelance Industrial Designer/Constructor to join our team for a 6-8 month contract. This role involves using your extensive CAD expertise to support the design and construction of our next step of the commercialisation of the Vidde snowmobile.
We offer an immediate or near-immediate start and the flexibility to work remotely.
Role: Industrial Designer/CAD-Constructor
Onboarding: Beginning of August 2024
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and refine complex CAD models using Fusion 360.
- Develop detailed production drawings from CAD models.
- Convert CAD drawings into solid models suitable for production.
- Collaborate with the engineering, production and design teams to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of designs.
- Implement and provide innovative solutions and improvements to existing designs.
- Tool Requirement Fusion 360 expertise is a must.
Preferred Experience:
We are looking for you that has previous experience within the vehicle design industry and/ or complex industrial design product development. You should have previous experience in working with construction and have documented experience from the whole process from 3D Designs to production ready CAD-models and 2D production drawings.
Specific Requirements:
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in industrial design or a related field.
- CAD Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Fusion 360, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of CAD modelling, assembly, and production drawing creation.
- Ability to translate complex designs into solid models.
- Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
Industry Knowledge:
- Previous experience in vehicle design is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with construction principles and practices.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Tool: Fusion 360
- Complex CAD Assemblies: Creating intricate assemblies involving multiple components that fit together seamlessly, such as a vehicle chassis or interior components.
- Parametric Design: Utilising parametric design features to allow easy modifications and updates to the design, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
- Simulation: Performing stress tests and simulations within Fusion 360 to validate the structural integrity of designs.
CAD Design in General:
- Precision Drawings: Developing detailed, accurate 2D production drawings from 3D models, including all necessary dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Solid Modelling: Converting surface models into solid models that are ready for manufacturing, ensuring they meet all production requirements.
- Documentation: Creating comprehensive design documentation, including assembly instructions and parts lists.
Examples of Products Designed for Production:
- Vehicle Components: Designing components such as seats, dashboards, and exterior panels, ensuring they are manufacturable and meet industry standards.
- Construction Elements: Creating structural elements for construction projects, like custom metal frameworks, prefabricated panels, or modular units.
- Consumer Products: Developing designs for consumer goods that are ready for mass production, such as electronic housings, furniture pieces, or home appliances.
